The drive belt should be periodically inspected to remove road debris (rocks, sticks, mud, etc.). The belt can be accessed by removing the left rear quarter panel.
Step 1

With a 5/32" allen wrench, loosen and remove each of the six allen screws that attach the left rear quarter panel to the Sparrow frame.
Step 2

With the quarter panel removed, you'll see the belt guard attached to the Sparrow frame.
Step 3

With a 1/2" socket or wrench, remove each of the three bolts (white circles) from the belt guard.

Remove the belt guard to expose the belt.

Inspect the belt for foreign debris and remove debris when necessary. At this time, you should also inspect the belt for wearing, fraying and cracking. Any abnormalities should be brought to the attention of your Sparrow dealer.
CAUTION: Do not attempt a belt adjustment or replacement. Only authorized Sparrow service dealers should perform belt adjustments or replacements.
