Battery pack life is described in terms of cycles. The nature and frequency of the cycles greatly affects battery pack life. It is a common misconception that the battery pack should be fully discharged before recharging. To the contrary, habitually discharging your battery pack completely will shorten battery pack life dramatically. We recommend that you recharge your Sparrow after each use. This will increase the life of the battery pack. The following chart illustrates the relationship of discharge to battery life. For example, if you regularly commute 25 miles to work and then another 25 miles to return home, you discharge your battery pack 80 to 90 percent. You can expect to replace your battery pack after 200-250 cycles. On the other hand, if you recharge your battery pack when you arrive at work, after the 25-mile commute, you can expect your battery pack to last twice as long, or 500 cycles. |
