Electrical Current Display
The amp meter, located to the right of the speedometer on the dashboard, displays in real time amps how much electrical current your battery pack is using. Typical readings are:

  • Accelerating - 50 to 100 amps
  • Freeway driving at 50 mph (80.5 kph) - 40 to 60 amps
It's a good idea to get into the habit of checking the amp meter frequently while driving. By accelerating slowly, you can increase your driving range by keeping the reading under 50 amps. Practice accelerating gradually, because it draws less current than accelerating quickly and suddenly. If the amp meter displays excessive amps (for example, 100 to 150 amps while cruising on the freeway at 50 mph), bring your Sparrow to an authorized Sparrow dealer for inspection. (Be sure to check that the parking/emergency brake is not engaged!)
