Monitor Your Amp Meter
Electric motors inherently have a high torque upon startup. This is because 100 percent of the motor's horsepower is always available. Quick acceleration can cause the rear wheel to lose traction, especially on wet surfaces. To prevent this, accelerate the vehicle gently by applying even pressure to the throttle. Once you become familiar with operating your Sparrow, you can improve your driving range (the distance your Sparrow will travel after charging the battery pack) by slowly and gently pushing the accelerator pedal so that you accelerate at an even pace, and by monitoring the amp meter. With practice you'll develop a balance between accelerating and amp consumption.
NOTE:For the first 500 miles of driving your new Sparrow, do not accelerate suddenly or quickly. This can cause electrical arcing and can damage the motor.
